KETCHUPs Inc. (ケチャップ株式会社, the “Company”) sets out this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) on how it handles the personal information of users of “RoboPet Life” (robopetlife.com, the “Service”), a website operated by the Company, in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
1. Information We Collect
To provide the Service, the Company collects the following information.

The Company does not ask for detailed personal information such as address or phone number for registration or Resident Card issuance. (If we collect information needed for delivery after e-commerce starts, we will explain it again at that time.)
2. Purposes of Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes.
- Providing the Service (membership platform and Community functions) and identity verification.
- Providing service functions such as showing days since welcome (anniversary notifications are in preparation).
- Analysis for service improvement (basically in statistical or anonymized form). Gender and age range are used only for statistics that help us understand Member trends and improve content and services, and are not used in a form that identifies individuals or provided to third parties.
- Responding to acts that violate the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines (including storing identifiers in a form that does not directly identify individuals, to prevent re-registration by suspended Members).
- Responding to inquiries.
- After e-commerce starts, order processing, delivery and after-sales service (with separate individual consent).
3. Disclosure to Third Parties and Outsourcing
- Except as required by law, the Company does not provide personal information to third parties without the person’s prior consent.
- The Service uses Google, LINE, Apple, Kakao, Naver and Facebook (Meta) for login authentication. Information is sent to and received from the service you used, to the extent necessary for authentication. The countries where these companies are located are: the United States for Google, Apple and Facebook (Meta); Japan for LINE; and the Republic of Korea for Kakao and Naver. – Discourse privacy information - The Company may outsource work such as server (VPS) operation and email sending to external providers, and will require necessary security measures from them. The Company does not jointly use personal data.
- Data provided to manufacturers (such as free insight reports) is provided only after processing it into statistical information that does not identify individual Members. The Company never provides an individual Member’s posts or robot ownership history to manufacturers in a form that identifies the Member.
4. International Users and Transfer to Japan
The Service is operated on servers located in Japan. Personal information you enter or provide, wherever you live, is transferred to and stored and processed in Japan. The information concerned is that listed in Section 1; the purpose is to provide the Service; the recipient is KETCHUPs Inc. ([email protected]); and the retention period is as stated in Section 6. By registering, you acknowledge this transfer. If you do not agree, please do not register, or withdraw; in that case you cannot use the Service’s member functions.
5. Cookies
The Service uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to analyze usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some functions of the Service may then become unavailable. The Service does not currently serve third-party advertising that uses cookies. It does include affiliate links to retailers; see the Advertising and Affiliate Policy (Japanese) for details.
We use Google Analytics to measure page views and link clicks. We do not include inquiry text, email addresses or member numbers in analytics events. Using Google, LINE, Apple, Kakao, Naver or Facebook login, YouTube videos, or links to LINE causes communication with each provider. Please also check each service’s privacy policy.
To improve page speed, we record on our own server the page path, speed, layout shift and interaction response figures, whether the page was shown on a smartphone, and the measurement date. This measurement does not record cookies, member numbers, URL query strings or form contents.
6. Storage, Management and Deletion
- Collected information is managed on servers (VPS) contracted by the Company.
- The Company takes reasonable security measures (access control, encrypted communication, backup management, etc.) to prevent unauthorized access to, leakage, loss or damage of personal information.
- We do not keep personal information longer than necessary for its purposes. When a Member withdraws, except for information that must be retained by law, we delete the account, registered robot information, and the identifiers, gender and age range obtained through External Authentication. Community posts remain in anonymized form. Information in backups is replaced as retention periods elapse (7 days for the site itself; weekly, up to 5 generations, for the Community).
- The withdrawal operation on My page deletes the member account, registered robot information, and External Authentication identifiers, gender and age range. If your posts contain personal information, please contact us.
7. Minors
Target Robots are products used by families, so minors may be involved as Members themselves or as subjects of posts. The Company does not expect persons under 16 to register alone, and requires use with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not directed to children under 13.
8. Your Rights
You may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of your personal information held by the Company. Please contact the address below. After confirming your identity, the Company will respond without delay in accordance with applicable law. You may choose not to provide personal information, but if you do not provide the information needed for External Authentication, you cannot register or use the Community functions.

10. Changes to this Policy
The Company may change this Policy in response to changes in law or in the Service. Changes take effect when displayed on the Service, and material changes will be announced in advance.
11. Language
The Japanese version of this Policy is the original. This English version is a translation for the convenience of English-speaking users; if the two differ, the Japanese version prevails.
